Outreach and Community Support
At IIPCT, we are committed to supporting Indigenous individuals and families who may not have regular access to a primary care provider. Through our outreach initiatives, we bring care directly to the community - meeting people where they are, in ways that honour their experiences and respect their needs.
Our outreach efforts include:
- Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Screening – supporting early detection and management, especially for those at increased risk.
- Cancer Screening
- HPV Screening Clinics to reduce barriers and improve cervical cancer prevention
- Breast Cancer Screening Events
- Colorectal Screening Pathways
- Diabetic Retinopathy Screening – bringing essential eye care to the community.
- Diabetes Screening – promoting early identification and intervention.
- Support for Displaced Communities – providing care, supplies, and connections to services for those affected by emergencies, such as wildfire displacement.
- Presence at Powwows and Community Events – sharing health and wellness information, providing culturally safe care, and building trust-based relationships.
Our Goal
To ensure that all Indigenous people in our region have access to timely, preventive, and compassionate care. Our outreach is community-driven and culturally grounded.
